WGGO News

Dear All & to our valuable allies in UNESCO:

We have some good news to share with photo attachment of trips to UNESCO-Paris and New York City.

This will strengthen our Global Movement launched under UNESCO patronage to promote the SDGs ResiliArt Cultural Communications and values lifelong learning for climate emergency action, peace and health to fight poverty through partnerships.

I just arrived from New York City. I thank you for the endorsement with UNESCO Chief, Mr. Elliot Minchenberg who we met when he attended the LaMaMa Awarding of 7 Global Artists last November 10, 2022.

I met with our Ambassador to the United Nations, H.E Antonio Lagdameo, Sr. and the Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations, H. E. Most Reverend Gabriele Caccia who also graciously attended the awarding ceremony. Both special guests were appreciative about our SDGs techno arts educational programs.

I have reconnected with our partners like Ms. Alejandra Giraldo, Chairwoman and President of World Green Growth Organization in New York, Mr. Nasir Khattak of Climate Institute in Washington and Mr. Stephane Pouffary of Arts Planet-Energies 2050 based in Paris, who had a pavilion at the COP27 in Cairo, Egypt, which secured a number of our videos about the SDGs Manila event that showed in their pavilion. We have agreed with LaMaMa that we shall inaugurate LaMaMa TWITAS (Third World Theatre Arts Studies) in Manila at the Universidad de Manila with regional connectivity to our university and community network in liaison with the Seoul Institute of the Arts (SIA) for its technological culture hub expertise and the South South Cooperation Council (SSCC) headed by Mr. Viktor Sebek for sustained south south collaboration.

Earthsavers with the Frontline Productions will work out a webinar on the HIV/AIDS issue for World Aids Day on the 1st the December and a special with “handicapable artists” (PWDs) on the 3rd of December for the International Day for Persons with Disabilities and Human Rights Day on the 10th of December.

We shall access online for available messages or should there be a focal person to share any special program in education for PWDs. We remember, the Earthsavers DREAMS Ensemble-Artists for Peace were invited in December of 2013 to perform at Room Miro 3 at the UNESCO Headquarters.

We will broadcast a special drama on aids that was recently staged on the last 2 days of October. We are including copy to UNESCO Jakarta, Dr. Mohamed Djelid whose office assisted in undertaking the SDGs program amidst the pandemic restrictions.
Before the end of the year, we can confirm the possible hosting of an SDGs ResiliArt Earth-saving Event for 2023. Conversation started with partners to have a collective initiative for a parallel cultural side-event in the next 2023 Climate Conference in Abu Dhabi. We hope we can have the continuing patronage of UNESCO. This idea is in the proposed agenda of action agreed upon in Manila and submitted to UNESCO in Paris.

We will try to seek the use of the United Nations Auditorium through the collaboration of Country Missions and the UNESCO Office in the UN and Climate Institute in consultative status at the UN to profile Afro-Asian connectivity anywhere from the 17th of April to the 17th of June for the occasion of observing any of these dedicated days: Earth Day in April, Dance Day, Heritage Month and Arts Education Week in May, World Ocean and Environment Day in June; linking Black Lives Matter with Indigenous Lives Matter. The film showing 1 hour and a half with post-screening dialogue. The Ghanian film on slavery and 3 short indie films from the Philippines- 10 minutes each. (animated / heritage film/ indigenous issue/ PWD performance.

Thank you for your kind and prompt attention.
